Character Map: A Guide to Familiar Faces in Woody Allen Movies

When you watch enough movies by any one particular director, you start to notice a lot of familiar faces. In the past, people have made guides and charts to help put names to the re-occurring actors that make up the films of Martin Scorsese and the Coen Brothers, and I figured I was in a uniquely qualified position to do that same for Woody Allen. So, in lieu of an actual review this week, enjoy:

Disclaimers

My arbitrary criteria: appearances (credited or uncredited) in a movie written or directed by Woody Allen. This means than What’s New Pussycat and Play It Again, Sam (which Allen wrote but did not direct) count, but The Front and Antz do not count, as Allen was merely an actor in them, which means they’re not exactly “Woody Allen movies.”

It should also be noted that Woody Allen likes to cast his friends, crew-members and family in small roles. There are numerous people who can found on IMDb to have been in 10+ Woody Allen movies (playing ‘party guest’ or some such) who have never been in any non-Woody Allen movies (Kenneth Edelson?). I didn’t include these people.

It is not only possible, but likely, that I missed someone. So, feel free to point them out.
